Junior Tennis Program
Get ready for an exciting year of tennis at the St. Thomas Yacht Club! Our 2025 Junior Tennis Program is designed to inspire young players of all skill levels, from beginners picking up a racket for the first time to competitive juniors looking to elevate their game. Through expert coaching, fun drills, and match play, we focus on building strong fundamentals, improving technique, and fostering a love for the sport. With a supportive and engaging environment, junior players will develop confidence, teamwork, and a passion for tennis—both on and off the court. Join us for a season filled with learning, competition, and plenty of fun in the sun!

Fun for All Ages
Evaluations and placements are made after the first day of class for all junior programs. Placement based on age, ability, and eagerness to excel. 4:1 ratio for ages 5-7, 6:1 ratio for Orange, Green, and Yellow ball classes.
Four-week commitment for each program. Register now, space may be limited.
A 3-player minimum required for each clinic with 24 hours notice.

JUNIOR TENNIS
QUICKSTART RED BALL ACADEMY
This ‘red ball’ program is designed to give 5-7 year-olds a more interactive approach to learning the game. Within the first hour of stepping onto the court, they are actually playing, rallying, moving around and having fun! Scaling the game down to their size, and using a bigger ball makes the learning process easier and more enjoyable!

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (JDP)
This program is tailored for the junior who is looking to get into tennis and learn the game. All strokes, tactics, and basic strategies are covered in a fun, positive environment.
Age 8-10 (Orange Ball):

Age 10-12 (Green Ball):

YOUTH PICKLEBALL 101

This new program meets once a week and offers our juniors a chance to learn the basics of pickleball: scoring, rules, and match flow. Join in on the fun and make some new friends!

Court Sports Access Fees and Waiver
The undersigned acknowledge and agree to pay the St Thomas Yacht Club Annual Court Access fee. Fees are based on type of membership. Any member that intends to use any court(s) for either tennis, pickle ball or squash for leisurely play or lessons with official club Pro, must pay the designated annual fee. Any member hosting an on-island resident guest must pay the daily Guest Court Access and is limited to no more than three times annually as per the STYC by-laws. Failure to pay fees and sign waiver before using any court may result in the cancellation of court reservation and/or court suspension.
